Sand Dollar Sunglasses and Other Dimestore Miracles

I'm starting on a mixed media painting with the artist/musician Patti Smith as the focal piece, base model photo taken directly from a still shot of a performance she did in Sweden in 1976 I found on youtube. (Isn't technology sometimes pretty cool?)

So! I look over to see what else that user has uploaded onto youtube and I become intrigued by the title "Gogol Bordello - Think Locally F*ck Globally". I cannot resist clever sophomoric puns, so I of course have to click on that, right?

It's AWESOME! It's apparently a "gypsy punk" group playing at a festival in Germany. Electric violins, bass drums, amazing energy, just...awesome.

Be sure to click on the high-quality viewing option just under the little viewing screen on youtube. It's well worth it! I hope you enjoy. Here's "Think Locally F*ck Globally" Click on the "More from PranksterPrairie" link to see even more. (Such as "Wonderlust King" which I'm also really enjoying. Holy crap, this makes me want to dance madly. :D )

Current Music: Gogol Bordello - "Wonderlust King (live)"
Current Reads: Charlaine Harris' "All Together Dead", Jim Butcher's Dresden Files book 2 "Fool Moon", Stephen King's "Night Shift".
